INTRODUCTION
More site than blog, this ‘home’ page is to introduce my subject—Democracy—while the ‘Pages’ are one topic each. It’s a work in progress. This ‘blog’ takes the form of ‘pages’ only, new Pages will be added in due course—for daily updates and commentary please go to:

—where you’ll find food for thought and much to rouse your indignation. I certainly hope so.
My style is simplistic because the subject is simplistic:
- needless laws invade every aspect of life
- needless ‘wars’ divert essential capital away from production
- the economy is collapsing (because of the points above)
—not happy? You’re not alone. But you don’t have to just sit there: you can change it.

MY THESIS
In the west we are coming to the end of a Fool’s Paradise. I’ll look at the whys and wherefores of that paradise and what can be done about it.

MY CHALLENGE
In these pages I will challenge many dearly held beliefs and customs. No offence intended, shock therapy sometimes works where patient reason doesn’t.

THE SITUATION
PIIGS. Portugal, Ireland, Iceland, Greece, Spain … Italy … and soon France, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, the European Union — all desperately coming up every few days with yet another new ‘Plan’ to avert the inevitable.
BUT: no political plan will work— the coming ‘adjustment’ is an unavoidable correction, one that will be all the more painful for further artificial delays.

OPTIONS
- More of the same.
- Anarchy.
- Totalitarianism.
- True Democracy.
Option 1 above is always temporary. The old wreck is given a new set of wheels and a coat of paint but underneath it’s the same old wreck. The same hasn’t been working: why should more of the same be any better?
Option 2 above (anarchy) would be the ideal system for a moral and ethical people but in real life such states fall quickly to the strongest, with predictable results often leading to option 3 above.
Option 3 (totalitarianism) is the direction many western democracies are now heading. Better to make the effort to break free now, while still possible.
Option 4 (True Democracy) doesn’t exist. The nearest is Switzerland but even Switzerland falls short. The United States isn’t on the page, but it could be. We all could be.

READ ON and you’ll find that you can change it. You can, but the price is high—it will mean that you alone will be responsible for your own life, no-one else. Personal responsibility is the price of Freedom so ask yourself: Do I really want to be Free?
